Brandon, Fox, Barry Croft Jr., and Daniel Harris are on trial in federal court in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Roth told the jury on Wednesday that Fox was the orchestrator of the plot. He also referred to the other suspects as his "kill squad."
Roth pointed a finger at each defendant, claiming that they actively worked to carry out their plan.
Furthermore, Caserta's attorney Mike Hills, argued that while audio recordings of his client's conversation with an FBI informant "sounded bad". But it was not an agreement to kidnap the governor.
Hills also told jurors that his client was not involved in the governor's two visits to his vacation home.
According to FBI and Michigan State Police affidavits, the group planned to rampage the state capital and incite a second civil war at times.

Brandon Caserta is arrested for plotting to kidnap Michigan Governer in 2020. Federal charges are filed against him and his associates, Fox, Croft, and Harris for conspiring to abduct the Democratic governor.
Prosecutors said the four men intended to kidnap Whitmer from her holiday home in northern Michigan, hog-tie her, and transport her away. According to Roth, the men also planned to blow up a bridge to slow down the police response to Whitmer's home.

The court documents suggested that Fox, Croft, and Harris will face additional charges of conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction. Similarly, possessing explosive devices.
The evidence against the four men is largely based on testimony from cooperating informants, undercover agents, recorded texts, online chats, and phone calls.
Furthermore, prosecutors stated that Garbin and Kaleb Franks would be their main witnesses. They are the men who pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors during their trials.
Garbin received a 75-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to the kidnapping conspiracy. Franks will be sentenced at a later date.
